Everyone loves free right? I recently read an article about how many billionaires gain and keep their fortunes off of remaining frugal. Case in point, Mark Zuckerberg shopping for wholesale bargains at Costco. We know that you have chosen to make the investment in your organization by joining the NACC. For some businesses, it is a drop in the bucket of their marketing budgets and for some, it is an enormous sacrifice. Whatever your reason for joining, whether it is to grow your business, grow yourself professionally, or stay on top of advocacy efforts, we want to help you use all of the tools available to you with your membership.
Community Calendar
One of my favorite pages on our website is our Community Calendar. Our members are able to add any community events to this calendar as an invitation to membership to attend. Hosting an open house? Providing an educational event? Add these to our Community Calendar to advertise your event.
Member to Member Discounts
Did you know that North Central College and Benedictine both offer 20% discounts on tuition to chamber members (and spouses)? That is a huge benefit not only to yourself but also your employees. You can also add your own Member to Member discounts to our website to help promote an offering at your business as well as Shop Chamber.
Business After Hours
Every second Tuesday of the month from 5-6:30 pm we go on a field trip to a different member business to enjoy some food and drinks and build relationships within the business community. Registration is not required for this event and it is open house style so you don’t have to stay the entire time. With 75-150 attendees it can sometimes be overwhelming, but just remember you can meet my team and me there 10 minutes prior to the start of the event to meet in a smaller group first.
Business Power Hour
Our Business Power Hour is one of my favorite events of the month. Occurring on the second Wednesday of every month from 11:30 to 1 pm in our office you can enjoy some great food, networking, and professional development. This is one of the only events that we host that you are able to stand up and introduce yourself and give a very brief intro of your business. I have seen light bulbs going on across the room when you see that two people connect because they need each other’s services or would be great power partners. Pre-registration is required for this event so visit our Chamber calendar to sign up!
Lunch and Learn
Lunch and Learns are hosted monthly and put on as an educational program by our members for our members. These lunches are also free to attend and very similar to our Business Power Hour events. You are provided the opportunity to introduce yourself and grow professionally all while making some great business connections. Are you interested in hosting a lunch and learn?
